What to look for
Prioritize abrasion resistance, reinforced palms, knuckle protection, secure wrist closure, and seams that do not dig into your fingers while gripping the bars.
Palm protection matters
In a fall, your palms are likely to hit first. Palm sliders or reinforced palm panels help reduce grabbing and twisting as your hand contacts pavement.
Match the glove to the weather
Summer gloves, waterproof gloves, and cold-weather gloves all make different tradeoffs. The best glove is protective enough and comfortable enough that you will actually wear it.
Check controls before buying. You should be able to use the clutch, brake, throttle, starter, horn, and turn signals without fighting the glove.
